AGM and PRIZEGIVING (Friday 28th October)

This is our chance to celebrate the year that was, with some great highlights including

  • Winning the 2015 Bay of Plenty Club of the Year,
  • Being a finalist for the Squash NZ Club of the Year,
  • 2 Runners Up at the 2016 National Champion of Champions
  • The E Grade Ladies qualifying for National Superchamps in Invercargill,
  • Winning overall club honours at the 2016 BOP Regional Graded Championships winning 6 divisions
  • As well as new initiatives for members including Preseason Fitness Training and Corporate Challenges
  • We also need to celebrate the record levels of players entered into Leagues, attending Club Nights and entering tournaments.

Wow, come along and be proud of our little club, its been quite a year.  It is also your chance to look at opportunities of how you can be part of making things happen for the year to come.

CLUB NIGHT

Club Night is back for one week only before we start Business House next week so come down and blow out a few cobwebs from 6.30pm onwards.  Riche is looking forward to welcoming all newcomers.

CHRISTMAS BUSINESS HOUSE  (Starting 27th October - next week!)

24 teams are set to rock and roll in our Christmas Business House competition, draws out later this week.

If you are keen to be be a reserve, please contact Kelly (kelly.cox@tauraurc.com), we are always looking for extra players.

LEAGUES

The league competition has been a resounding success this year with 60 members fighting it out for top honours. This is up 62% on last year and is a great way for club members to play a broader range of players and get a few games in each week.  A big thanks to Robyn Cotton for her amazing work organising the leagues every month.

And the winner is....(to be revealed at Prizegiving)

The next leagues competition starts on November 1st, with all points back to zero.  All players will need to reregister on the list at the club to re-enter, dont miss out on some early points!!

SUMMER OPEN (28-30 DEC)

In December we will be looking to run our annual Summer Open (no points) tournament.

We are calling for volunteers to help run the tournament.  Please contact Kelly Cox (kelly.cox@tauraurc.com) or Richie Adams (adamss@orcon.net.nz).  Every little bit helps and this is a great social tournament to be involved with and get to know how behind the scenes works.

As it is a no points tournament, anyone can enter - you dont have to be on the grading list so grab your mates and relatives that are visiting and give it a go!

We already have quite a bit of interest with players from town enquiring about the tournament so please get in touch ASAP.

CLUB SECURITY

A few recent events of potential break-ins at the club so a reminder to please make sure that the front door by the office is not left propped open.  Appreciate your support in helping us look after our club.

NEW COURT SPONSOR

We are very lucky to have secured a new naming rights sponsor for Court 1 - keep an eye out for the new signs up at the club.  Special announcement to come....

Happy Squashing

Kelly and the Committee
